Rescue the animals... rescue my sanity

Mum guilt has hit hard. With a family crisis on top of miserable weather and the usual ten million things that need doing, Blippi and Cocomelon have been doing more than their fair share of entertaining the kids.

To rectify this, I searched for fun activities to do inside and came across one that will supposedly entertain and develop fine motor skills.

Animal rescue

Tape a bunch of toy animals to a window and let the kids rescue them. Sounds easy. Sounds fun. Sounds like a winner.

Wrong.

Maybe the expensive masking tape I used is awful. Maybe the windows are secretly Teflon. Whatever it may be, I could not get the animals to stick to the window and within 20 seconds of trying this game both kids were in tears. Instead of being entertained, they needed consoling. Instead of peace, there was bawling. The only person developing fine motor skills was me, trying to untangle tape and get those animals on the window.
