About me

From an early age I've been obsessed with animals and nature. I was the crazy kid who spend recess and lunch at school looking under rocks to find new animals to add to my family. That obsession led to a career in science, with a PhD in zoology and a focus on aquatic ecosystem health.

I've loved writing for most of my life, especially creative writing. Writing is an important part of who I am but it's something I've neglected over recent years. I'm actively working to change this. I also love making art, even though I'm not great at it.

The same goes for photography. Despite my lack of skills, I really enjoy taking photos of clouds and lightning. Blue skies are boring and nothing is more thrilling than trying to capture that fleeting moment when lightning strikes.
